Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of berlintourism.org. Reading the site means accepting them. They are short because the site is simple: we publish travel guides about Berlin, and you read them.

The guides are information, not a booking service

Everything published here is general information about visiting Berlin. We are not a travel agency, tour operator or booking platform. We take no reservations, sell nothing, and have no commercial relationship with any hotel, restaurant, museum, club or transport operator described on the site.

Any arrangement you make with a business we have written about is between you and that business. Their terms, their cancellation policy, their liability.

Accuracy, and its limits

We research from primary sources and date what we publish, but Berlin does not hold still. Opening hours change, venues close, ticket prices are revised, museum wings shut for renovation and public holidays rearrange the week. Guides are accurate to the best of our knowledge on the date shown, and no further than that.

Confirm anything you would build a day around — a museum’s hours, a tour’s departure, a closure date — with the operator before you travel. Nothing here is a warranty that a place will be open, will cost what we said, or will be as described when you arrive.

Not professional advice

Where our guides touch on law, safety, health, insurance or entry requirements — German cannabis rules, travel insurance, visa and entry paperwork, what to do in an emergency — they are written to help you understand the landscape, not to advise you on your situation. They are not legal, medical, financial or immigration advice, they can lag behind changes in the law, and they are no substitute for the relevant authority or a qualified professional. Visa and entry rules in particular depend on your nationality and should be checked with the German mission responsible for your country.

Liability

The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from reliance on anything published here, including indirect or consequential loss, missed connections, wasted expenditure or spoiled arrangements.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

The text of the guides, the site’s structure and its original graphics belong to Berlin Tourism Guide and are protected by copyright. Photographs may be licensed from third parties or used under their own licences, which are credited where required.

You may read, print and share pages for your own personal, non-commercial use, and you may quote a short passage with clear attribution and a link back to the page you took it from. You may not republish guides in whole or in substantial part, use them to train a commercial model without permission, or present them as your own work. For anything beyond a short quotation, ask through the contact page.

Trade marks, venue names and institution names mentioned in the guides belong to their owners and are used descriptively.

Our guides link out to operators, museums and civic sources so you can verify what we say and book directly. Those sites are not under our control and a link is not an endorsement of anything beyond the specific fact it supports. We are not responsible for their content, their availability or their handling of your data.

What you agree not to do

  • Scrape, crawl or bulk-copy the site in a way that degrades it for other readers.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server or its accounts.
  • Use the contact form to send unsolicited commercial messages, guest-post pitches or link-exchange offers.
  • Republish substantial portions of a guide elsewhere without permission.

Advertising and commission

The site does not carry display advertising at the time of writing. If and when it does, ads will be served by third-party networks, will be visually distinct from the editorial text, and will have no bearing on what we recommend.

Some booking links do earn us a commission, through our booking partner Stay22: if you book through one, the provider pays us, and your price is the same either way. That is stated at the top of every guide and explained on the affiliate disclosure page. We do not accept payment for coverage or for placement within a guide, and a commission has no say in what a guide recommends.

Changes, and the law that applies

These terms may be revised; the current version is always the one on this page, with the date at the top. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the revised terms.

These terms are governed by the law of the country in which the site’s publisher is established, and disputes are subject to the courts of that jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer law in your country of residence.
